About
Thao is a Vietnamese multimedia designer who struggles to articulate her thoughts and feelings verbally but finds solace in her creations. Her interest in the intangible psyche of humans has led her to discover and further develop her own style, by experimenting with multiple materials, such as paper, flowers, plant-based wax and starch. She uses a multimedia approach - including film, image, sound and lighting, to build a bridge between the invisible and the visible, speaking volumes where words falter.
Mission
In Vietnamese culture there is not much understanding of ill mental health and it is a heavily stigmatized subject, making it difficult for young Vietnamese to communicate their struggles to their loved ones. With this installation Thao aims to create understanding and make her chaotic and unfocussed mind tangible, allowing you to take a journey through her inner world of chaos and inattention, problem solving and ultimately blissful acceptance.
